For the past year having been endowed with over 200 energetic Recreation Division, over 30 talented Competitive Development Division members, and about 15 Competitive "A" Division members, we`ve given the sport of snowboarding a whole new level of exposure. Board-News @ SFU November 2001 The month of November has been an eventfull month for the SFU snowboard club. We had a successful social at the Purple Onion with a great turnout of club members. The SFU snowboard Team has been training hard at FLICKA gymnastics every tuesday night learning new tricks and inverts. ON hill training will start early in Dec. on monday`s and wednesdays. The west coast has finally been graced with a few new feet of snow. Whistler Blackcomb opened up Nov 22 and had swarms of SFU snowoarders shredding the hills and the Bars. Keep a lookout for the SFU snowboard team at your local resort and BCSA competitions in the new year. Board-News @ SFU October 2001 The SFU snowboard team is gearing up for another successfull season. This fall our ex president Marzie Damien has secured the whistler-blackcomb deals which entitles full-time university student in the lower mainland to full seasons passes for $300. Yup thats right over $1000 in saving. In addition to getting cheap passes we still have deals through Seymour and Cypress. The SFU snowboard team is headed by a new team of execs and president Sabine Boarsche. Also we have a new coach Andrew George of Cypress snowboard school committed to improving the team and teaching us lots of new tricks. The team has already logged in many hours training by playing soccer, and practicing inverts at the dive tanks. Plus trampoline training will start up shortly. We are stoked for a good winter with lots of snow snow and more snow. For more information visit the website.
