your FIRST TIME
The point of this was to submit your best first time Vans Warp Tour or if you haven't been why you wanna experience your first time and get warped. Here are 25 randomly selected entries, completely unedited. (Many apologies for those of you whose responses weren't included, there was just so many!) As always all names have been removed to protect the innocent.

  1. i have never been there before but it would be cool to go to see the skaters pull off the sweet shit they do and to see the bands and shit it would be really cool, i was supposed to go last year but i couldn't cauise i had to do stuff that weekened or day or whatever but it would be really cool to go man.

  2. my first time was like it was last summer and it wasthe best. And there is one thing that I will never forget. me and my buds went to the main stage to see what was happening and we didn't know why there wasn't anyone else there so we decided to stay there and wait and then they came (the sucide machines that is) they came on the stage and withen five minutes there were about 22 million people behind us and we were in the core, that is the center of the moshpit. it was awsome my best experience at warped tour. so yeah you should send me this year and it will be cool

  3. The first warped show i went to was in 99 at the docks in toronto. I was 12 and it was my first concert ever. It was kick ass seeing Steve Cabalerro kickin ass on the vert ramp and the am skaters on the street course. I didn't get to stay to see any of the headliners but i got to see Sevendust, some irish band, black eyed peas and the royal crown revue.

The second warped show was last year at molson park. That show was amazing. Green Day lit all their stuff on fire, Steve Cabalerro played bass for Millencolin and the crowd was surfing garbage cans. It was a hot and sticky day with not alot of wind. The pits were huge and crazy. I split up from all my freinds so half the show i was walking around by myself. Avail had a good set. But Beau Beau eventually pulled down his pants. Not cool. The motocross riders we going huge though. They set the ramp up between the 2 main stages so it looked like they were flying from one to the other.

    And that's me story.

  4. hey i think this is the sickest contest ever. i want to go to the warped tour this year cause the bands are amazing including my 2 fav bands Pennywise and A Fire Inside. I was so stoked when i heard they were playin the tour this year, but it seems that I am going to be goin out west to visit friends when the tour go's to Toronto the closest show to me. Those are the reasons i want to go.

  5. I have never been to a warped tour event and experienced the greatness, that by itself is pretty good reason. Then its full of punk rock and thats the s#@t that I listen to, so more of a reason for me to go, the people there will all be crazy people, and damn, thats what I want. The comps will be sick, I'll get to see some crazy tricks, and experience the life. I could meet pros or whatever. It would be sick! I have never been to a concert, (I have tried) so it would be pretty damn exciting. And you could really make my day by telling me that I am going.

  6. First warped tour. It was 1996 and my best bro and i had made a pact to see pennywise before we die, so to the 401 we headed out. My ex-girlfriend, blake, darryl and i hit toronto to do some skating and spend the weekend chillin. We hit mosport park and started skating the track when security threatened to kick us out so we headed to the front gate. The place was pretty chill, saw some old friends and and watched some sick skating. Near the late afternoon i got sunstroke and had to retire under a tree. I got up to listen to pennywise and it was the best show i have ever seen to date. So darryl and i finally did it, we saw pennywise. To put a long story short darryl died 6 month's later and i played bro hymn at his funeral, then i went and got the pennywise symbol with darryl's name, the day he was born, and the day he died tatooed on my leg. Not a happy story but it's mine and i have to live with it.

  7. I wanna go to Warped Tour because PUNK IS LIFE!! I'm an events freak so Warped Tour would pump me up so huge I'd go nuts in a pit. Also, sharin the stoke with the athletes is the best shit in the world to do. I wanna go to Warped Tour!! PLLEEEEEEEEAAAAAAASSSSE send me!! I'll beg, I'll kiss your feet and I'll worship you!! SEND ME TO WARPED TOUR!!!

  8. #$^*, the 2000 Vans Warped Tour in Barrie at Molsons park was the best event ever! thats all there is to say. The bands with their 5 stages were sweet, the skate demos were sick and the crowds were the sickest ever! and in only had to wait like an hour and a half to get in.

The skate/BMX demos were sweet. Steve Cabalero (or however you spell it) was setting down sweet lines in the pipe and, damn! john Comar, the one legged skater is the shit!!! That guy is my hero. It was cool how i got both their autographs. The Dirt Bike jumping was cool, huge shit was being pulled for hours.

COmpanies and bands had booths that you could get anything you want in them. their was like 50 booths in the middle of the venue

Shit, when Avail went on and there was  few Circle moshes at the front i was like, what the hell, and jumped in. The first second i was in the pit someone punched me in the face so hard i saw black spots all over. I fell against the people standing at the outside only to have them push me back in. I started running and hitting like the crazy ^%$*ers in the pit. Jesus, it was like the whole point of the pit was to stay alive! After a few minuted of getting the shit kicked out of me by people about 100-150lbs more then me i managed to crawl out through someones legs.

OH SHIT, and the Green Day Concert was SICK AS HELL. As soon as they started to play the intire crowd, didnt matter how far back you were, started to push back and forth the entire time they played. Imagine having 20 people steping on your feet at the same time and trying to stay up because if you fell theres nothing to stop the people from trampoling you to death...

Oh ya, that damn company giving away the frizbies better not thin year cause there were about 15 per crowd that were being thrown straight up and comming down on someones head from about 50 feet up. I got hit be some $%@#er in the shoulder that left a huge bruze.

When i had to get goin' i6 thought about all the pain i went through and reaziled that it was wroth it, Every damn moment was worth it. And i really really wana. no I wish, beg, plead, to go back this year.

  9. This will be my first time at the Warped Tour this summer in T.O. the reason I want to go?  Hell, the line up this year is AMAZING!!!  The atmosphere at these kind of shows is SO awesome, its pumps the adrenaline! When all of us get together for these kind of shows, its NUTS! Everyone shares the same love for punk and skating here! The people around are so great and crazy, its the kind of people I love being around (no driscrimination here). It seems people tend to be more themselves at shows like this.  And of course the SKATERS, mmmmm...lol! Its what its all about, I'm ready to be amazed. You gotta love them! (oh, and if I were to win, i'd take my buddy who's a bum and isn't able to go to the Toronto show.)

  10. I have a pretty bad story of the first warped tour i went to.

It was Warped tour '99.  I got two free tickets from a friend who didn't want them.  Things were looking up.  My parents were driving me and a friend to  the docks (where it was being held).  For some reason my mom didn't beilive me that i brought the tickets, she made me take them out of my bag and show them to her.  The dumbass that i am, i forgot to put them back in my bag.  I realized this as the car was driving away.

After running after the car and trying to kick my own ass for being so stupid, my friend and i stooped to the level of buying off of scalpers. This took up all the money we had.  They took our water bottles away from us at the gate so we literally had nothing.

It didn't take long in the heat for us both to become dehidrated and hungry as fuck.  My friend was worse off than me.  She puked alot.  So after a day of sitting in the sick tent and not seeing a single good band we were pretty eager to go home.  When we left the docks we couldn't find our ride.  We figured it was getting dark and we couldn't just stand around so we took transit home.  (did i mention i live in the suburbs? transit home took at least 3 hours). So by the time we got home we were not only really fucking pissed off but we got bitched at by our families for not finding our ride and comming home extremly late

  11. Well, I've never been to any Warped Tour.  I think that a first time in Calgary would be a great time.  I'd probably start rukus in the mosh pitt, do a bit of crowd surfing and scream my head off.  I also plan on maybe hitting it up with some of the pro skaters, you know, become another pro hoe...ok, I'm just kidding.  I could always do my first time @ Warped topless: Woodstock style...nah.  I'm saying all these crazy things, but my first time would just be having a good time listenning to the music and admiring all those crazy skaters.... a good beer would be in there too.

  12. Last year when I went to the Warped Tour, it was a blast!  I went with my boyfriend and three of his buddies.  It took us about 5 hours to drive there, and another five to get back.  We were so hyper, just waiting to get there and see everyone.  NOFX, would have to have been my most favorite band thjere.  I remember when No Doubt was up there preforming and everything, and this girl infront of us took off her shirt, and my boyfriend was just staring.  And i was like, why are you looking at her, look what you have right here.  We stayed up all day and all night.  I slept the whole way home.  We spent so much money on cd's and bumper stickers, we came home with a grand total of ten bucks combined.  Me and my boyfriend have been together now ever since, and i would love to re-live all those memories again this summer.  And that's why i would love to go to the Warped Tour again!

  13. I wanna go to the warped tour cause they've got the best bands playing there and I have wanted to go since they came to my home town in '98 and my sisters got to go for free and got to meet the mighty mighty bosstons but I couldn't go cause I was to young! Lemme go!

  14. My first time at a Vans Warped tour..i'll never forget it. It was in Belgium in the summer of 1998 at Pukkelpop. They were giving away free things like t-shirts, sunglaces .... I had a lucky day and i caught a t-shirt! But it appeared to be a XS size.  No problem, i'm still wearing it but the litle skateboerd in front looks 3 -D on my breasts!

Anyway, i want to go there again for the music, skatepark and halfpipe but most of all: for a new t-shirt like that!!

  15. No I've never been to Warp Tour but i'd have to guess it funkin sweet what else would u want? u got skateboarding, kicking bands and also nice girls all over too.

So my reasons for wanting to go is to mosh, dance or break it down do some of the bands and also grab some air, pull some crazy shit or show my stuff around. those are my two main reasons i also think it'd be kick ass to just experiance the pure crazieness of the event and see exactly what it takes to be a good skater.

  16. My first warped tour experience was last summer at molson park. I was with my older brother's friends who are much taller and bigger then me. They pulled me along into the center of the mosh pit during good riddance. All of a sudden people in front of me started to back up and it knocked me and my friend to the ground. I got steped on all over. And when some guy finally helped me up, I realized I had lost one of my shoes. For the rest of the day i was walking around with only one shoe on cause i never found it.

  17. the first time i went to a warped tour was rather a small warped tour not real, but they were there, it was this year at groezrock. Well, i loved it, i knew that it would be great, but it was warped you know , well euh , ..... warped tour,it was like ignite, snfu , ooh yeah, while ignite was playing there songs (it was the first time i heard them) on as called run, run, run, and they asked for making a circle pit. Well, everybody went making that pit and it went round and round, but one of them was going the wrong way and , yes, that was I. I smacked on the floor, my nose was bleeding and everybody did'nt see me so a few were falling over me what hurts to you know. well,... warped tour, i guess it is the name that's making you feel like .

  18. Hi i have just joined the b-team and i am checking out all the great things they have to offer such as this contest.  I feel i should go to the vans warped tour because i loved rancid and i would like to see rancid and skateboarders express themselves at the same time

  19. yo i've never been to any warped tour events but from what i hear they're pretty damn good music and skater wise but truthfully i think it would be sweet to go it this year is because kool keith is gonna be there and kool keith is great a that and the skating i love watching other guys go huge and wishing i could do it cause that helps me progress in skateboarding

  20. It was the summer of 2000 and I had bought tickets for the greatest punk show on earth, The Vans Warped Tour.  Not only had I bought tickets for me, but feeling very generous I bought tickets for my 10 friends who don't have jobs, and are hardcore punks too.

Soon I was counting down the days to the high point of summer, anticipating it like a child does to Christmas.  One particular stokey feeling day I was skateboarding to my friends houses to deliver their tickets,  when I saw a extraordanarily large dog lunging towards me, long gobs of slobber and foam drooling out of its face.  As i turned to skate away it jumped on me and pushed me down at quite a force.

I was surprised not to feel pain, or anything for that matter, so i turned around to get up, when I saw not a dog but an alien punk!  I asked him what the F*!^ he was trying to be, when he pulled something out of his shirt and zapped me.  I became in a super trance and pulled out of my wallet, all 11 warped tour tickets, all my money, and my bank card, and handed then calmly to this freaky alien punk.  He walked away, and I stood for 5 long hours, stuck in this trance.  Finally quite a lot later that evening it started to wear off and I started heading for home.  Very sad and disappointed I cried for 3 days in my room.

  21. The first time i went to a warped tour was a couple years back....the main reason i went was the bands...let me tell you!  I have never seen so many bands before!  insane!  While i did go mainly for the music..i had no idea how fun it was to walk around the booths and watch the skate comps...by the end of the day i was so tired from moshing and walking around....and the fact i was so dehydrated i couldn't see straight...i must of walked through the free mountain dew line about 20 times...and STILL my thirst wasn't quenched...though someone did start hosing everyone down with water by the end!

but it was all good and its become an annual occurance for me.

  22.     My name is dustin and i want to go to WARPED TOUR'01. There are three main reasons why i wanna go to see this years warped tour, they are : I want to see "new found glory" play, there fuckin awesome.       I want to see the incredibly strange wrestling   and I want to see some pros rip it up on the vert

  23. My very first time when i went to a warped tour was 2 yrs. ago, my frined brad deakin was in it and he placed 21st. pretty brutal. but i remeber all the rad tricks, especially andrew gordon. he placed 1st, i will never forget that day.

  24. my first time @ the warped tour was last summer (molson park in barrie). i was all hyped up to see gob and greenday. well, i had seen greenday once before so i figured i was "prepared" for the mosh pit and whatnot. it turns out i was sooo wrong. big, burly, sweaty NOFX fans were there too and NOFX had just played a set right before greenday came on, so the crowd was pretty much all wild and rowdy and me being a small delicate girl, i had no idea just how bad it was about to get. all i can say is: guys, protect your girlfriends and look out for them at these things. festivals get so crazy! so after screaming at the top of my lungs for what seemed like an eternity and trying to push my way out of the crowd over people who were writhing around on the ground and falling all over me, my friends and i managed to meet up. let me tell you, i spent the rest of the day in partial shock and had to cool it by wandering around to the vendors. but contrary to all that, it was one of the best damned concerts i had b

  25. warped tour: why i wanna go.....cuz i'm really into this shit...everything extreme is my life....music is my life....girlz are my life....so i wanna go to see all the awesome bands....my fave bands play'n are prolly pennywise for sure, less than jake, planet smashers, the ataris and a whole wack more.... i've been listening to this stuff for a really long time...but have never gotten to see the bands play live.....it'd be an awesome experience for me...plus i've never gone out of ontario for anything...and this would make it a dream... oh about the girlz...yeah there are a lot of em...all the hott girlz that do crazy shit....where else can you find a chick that's into the same stuff....at the warped tour.... and i'd wanna meet em all...maybe hand out a wack of boardpass cards, t-shits, stickers....what ever they want ....i'd even dye my hair green... just to represent the snowboarders at boardpass... oh and vans.. well they make the best crap ever.....i love their snowboard boots... their shoes kick ass... and my shoes just got wrecked so i can go for sum new ones.....haha.... yeah warped tour, yeah vans, yeah boardpass...and yeah to all the children of the board... for we are what the future....
